December 16, 2025 @ 11:30 am 1:00 pm

Join the Ohio Business Development Center for an important online session on the Ohio Department of Transportation’s new DBE certification and recertification requirements. ODOT officials will provide direct insight into how the state is implementing the recent federal Interim Final Rule (IFR) and what these changes mean for Ohio businesses.

**🗓️ Tuesday, December 16

⏰ 11:30 AM
💻 Online via Zoom
🎟️ Free to Attend**

About the Session

Major changes are now in effect for the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program. All firms previously certified under race- or sex-based presumptions must be reevaluated, and DBE goals on new contracts are temporarily suspended until the recertification process is complete.

During this session, ODOT officials will review:

  • The new DBE certification and recertification requirements
  • Mandatory reevaluation of all currently certified DBE firms
  • How to prepare a personal narrative and personal net worth documentation
  • What firms should expect during the transition
  • How the suspension of DBE contract goals affects upcoming projects
  • Key deadlines, timelines, and next steps for business owners

Who Should Attend

  • Current DBE-certified firms
  • Firms considering applying for DBE certification
  • Minority-, women-, and disadvantaged-owned businesses
  • Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Prime contractors navigating goal suspension requirements
  • Purchasing agents and community partners

Why You Should Register

These federal changes significantly impact certification eligibility, bidding opportunities, and participation in Ohio’s transportation contracts. This session will help ensure your business understands the new expectations and is prepared for the reevaluation process.
